Cosmic Shimmer Mist Card!

I have been playing with some Cosmic Shimmer Mists (great value at 2.99 per bottle). I sprayed several pieces of card with blue, green and gold and then over stamped them with images from Sheena Douglass and embossed these with gold and black sparkle powders. I stamped and cut out some flowers and bigger butterflies and used these as embellishments.
The mists were easy to use although somewhat messy, you need loads of newspaper, but they are excellent quality and beautiful colours. I used a few beads tied to some ribbon to 'jazz' it up a bit and then sent it to a lovely friend who has just had an operation. Hope it cheers her up!

Graphicus Blog April Challenge Card!

This is the card I've made for the Graphicus Blog Challenge for April. The theme is Pink and Green with Blossom. I hope this will qualify.
I used stamps from ' Wild Meadow' and 'Flora and Fauna' stamp sheets, petite oval/scalloped nestabilities, clear embossing powder, Memories dye inks and ribbon and gems.
I stamped a flower image in Hunter's Green and then embossed over these with the butterfly and dragonflies using clear powder. I inked all over with a Cranberry inkpad and cut and dry foam to make these images 'pop' out. I added dots stamped in the same colour. I made the topper in the same way but without the background stamping. Gems, ribbon and a peeloff complete the card. Thanks for looking!

Retirement Cards.

A dear friend and colleague retired from teaching after 46 years at my school this Easter. She retired officially seven years ago but came back part time to work as the school Librarian. I was asked by the Head to make a large card for everyone at school to sign so hence the 'book' theme on this A4 card. Inside it said 'Celebrate' with another Ethel image!
The stamps are from Murray and Ethel Set One, coloured with Promarkers and Glossy Accents. I made the backing paper with an image from MS Clipart.
The second card is the one I made to give her from the family. The stamp is a Stampabilities Happy Hopper called Bunny Cruise. I used glossy accents on the duck, glass and rubber ring. Flowers again from Poppicrafts, sentiments made on the computer.

'Leaving to have a baby' cards.

Hubby asked me to make a couple of cards for his department to sign for two of their colleagues who both left teaching at Easter to have babies so I had to come up with two different ones.
I used templates from:
Nestabilities
Poppicraft Flowers
Papermania gems
HOTP Fold it Flower Template
Papers from Brenda Pinnick and Dovecrafts (Hint of Pink)

Happy Birthday, Sunday, Matt!

Here's my favourite photo of Matthew!
Hope you have a great day on Sunday!

Matt's Birthday Card!

Hope he likes it!
Pyramaged photo of Canary Wharf at night. ( No, not one of mine!) George download coloured with Copic pens ( hurray it didn't bleed!)
It's my son's birthday this weekend so I 'had' to make him a card (I was told that I'd be in trouble if I even thought about buying one!) so here's what I came up with. It's another large card, A4 sized (A3 folded) - well it had to be special! The photo is of Canary Wharf. I used a 'George at Work' image from Charmed Cards and Crafts which I coloured this time with Copic Ciaos. I was pleased with this as it's the first time I've used them ( another new purchase - heavens!) and the computer ink didn't run at all, which surprised me, as it usually does when I watercolour my printed images so at last I'll be able to colour all those downloads that I've got and hardly used.

DoCrafts April Friendship Swap / PBFC Challenge Card.

Homemade crochet Flowers!
Here's the card I've made which will do for two challenges, for the April friendship swap at DoCrafts and for my lovely friend Kaz who set our craft group's latest challenge. Kaz sent me: Embossed card, handmade paper, Japanese silk paper, Ribbon, Brad and a lovely Marabou feather. The challenge was to make your own flower/s for the card. I used the embossed card and over inked it with a Laura Ashley stamp in leaf green. I cut and embossed and inked the handmade paper behind the Laura Ashley paper panel cut with Labels 2 Nesties. The image is Maggie, from Sugar Nellie, coloured with Promarkers. I used the Japanese paper behind the flowers, inked and embossed it and the flowers I crocheted using some scraps of old wool. Alphabet letters cut on my new acquisition, the Quikcutz Squeeze (19.99 from Artymiss!) I would recommend it for ease of use - hope they're going to keep making the dies.
Hope you like it Jenny!

Bank Holiday Adventure!

We walked all the way round!
Fancy seeing these, they're Alpacas btw!
How cuddly do they look?
Two more strange animals!
Cormorants and Alpacas!!
Well, thought I might share some more of my photos with you. Yesterday me, hubby and Rachel thought we'd have a little ramble as it was a nice day. We ended up at Draycote Water , a lake/reservoir about 10 miles from us here. I thought it would be a nice little walk around, turned out it was 5 miles all the way round!! Am a bit stiff today but I suppose it'll pay off in the long run, at least it was flat and the '99' at the end of it was very welcome!

Blog Header Improvements!

My computer expert (No 1 son) has been home on a flying visit this weekend and has had a fiddle with my blog header for me. It actually fits now and he's managed to add one of my photos (above) as a background. Better or worse, what do you think? lol

Stamping Challenge Card - DC's

Here's the card I've made for the stamping challenge set by Lizzie. It's a rushed job as I forgot the deadline was 6pm tonight so I only started it at 5.15pm!! I've noticed that it's been extended as no-one can upload so I might have a go at another later in the week. Thought I'd pop it here instead. Anyway, this is what I used:
Background: Elusive Images Wild Meadow Stamps, stamped and embossed with clear powder. Inked all over with Marvy Blending Blox - Shades of Green to make a resist image. Stamped again with Shades of Green and overstamped with main image in black Versafine. Main Image: Stampboard tile inked as before, stamped and embossed with black Verasafine and clear powder and edged with gold marker. Flower -Poppicrafts

Help Me I'm Addicted!!

How cute is this?
Will Knit For Friends No HMOR1132 Eggcellant HMVR1007 I've been making a few Easter cards tonight with my new Happy Hopper stamps. I have to confess that I'm fast developing an addiction for these stamps from Stampabilities. I've got to add the greetings but I left my peeloffs at school today. I've been teaching my class quilling today, something which 'I' thought was easy, ha ha, how wrong was I!! lol

Diamond Wedding Card.

I got asked this week to make a Diamond Wedding card for a colleagues grandparents. My first ever card order! I used the Romance board and kept it pretty traditional. The flowers are foam roses from Hobbycraft. I love the way they look real. Had to make a box as well. All in all I was pleased with how it turned out and my colleague loved it. (Thank goodness).
p.s They asked for the spelling to be 'Grandad' (Never know if it should have 2 d's!)

Second attempt with Promarkers!

This is my second attempt with the second lot of markers I bought. I think it's slightly better being less dark but the close up shot makes it look like I've missed a bit of their tummies out where it's blended (note to self, get new glasses!!) but on the actual card this isn't as visible. I need a magnifying mirror to colour them in, lol, as you can't see this until it's photographed up close!
